Just a reminder for anyone who would like to volunteer as a class rep please feel free to email Jessica or Maria to put your name forward.
The role involves being the link between the class teacher and the parents in the class if any messages or reminders need to be sent out during the school year.
If more than one person in the class is interested then we may change the class reps each term.
Happy Monday Everyone! We have completed the first sound group (s, a, t, i, p and n) and are now revising these sounds as well as starting to blend them all together.
As a result, the homework this week is a little different. There will be no Sound Book work but it might be useful to look through the completed pages and discuss the different sounds and pictures for each page.
Activity 1: Cut and Paste - Children will cut out the pictures and say the starting sound for each one. They will then stick them into the correct column on the second page and colour these in.
Activity 2: Sound Worksheet - The children will colour the pictures that start with the correct sound and trace the letter formation, using the rhymes we have been learning in class and at home.
Our Tricky Word for this week is I. Try to make some sentences using the word 'I'.
Here is a link to a playlist of the Jolly Phonics songs that we have learned so far:
Hi everyone! Below is the PowerPoint presentation used on Parents Evening if you want to look through the information again. We are still looking for volunteers for Class Reps so if anyone is interested please email us on:
1. Sound and Tricky Word Worksheet - Our new sounds for the week are 'p' and 'n'.
Please colour in the pictures and practice the sounds and letter formations with them throughout the week.
2. Sounds Booklet - Our sounds this week are 'p' (p. 5) and 'n' (p.6). Please complete both pages by Friday. Also, please try to do these two pages only.
Today we learned all about the 'p' sound.
Take a look at our song for the 'p' sound.
We will be learning the sound 'n' later on in the week.
Here is the song for the 'n' sound:
Use your magic eyes to find some 'p' and n' objects in the pictures below!
3. Tricky words - Our tricky word this week is she. Try and think about all the sentences we say every day using the word 'she'!
4. Oral Language Page: The School - The children will be learning all about School over the next two weeks. Take a look at the page about 'school' and have a chat about the words and the picture.
Homework will be collected on Friday morning so please ensure the folders are in their bags for collection on Friday.
Any issues or problems with the homework, please let Jessica (belmayneetjessica@gmail.com) or Maria (belmayneetmarial@gmail.com) know and we can adapt and change as necessary.
