Homework March 9th

Hi everyone!

This week we are learning the 'sh' sound. This can be a bit tricky for children to grasp as it is two sounds together so we are just focusing on this sound for the week . 

1. 'sh' worksheet. The children should complete the following 'sh' worksheet. It is in their homework folders and is double sided.

2. Blending. The children should complete page 60 and 61 in 'Sounds Like Phonics'. This is based on blending and word families. You can revise the sounds completed so far and practice blending with your child.

3. Oral language sheet. Oral language sheet as normal. This fortnight's theme is the Garden Centre.

4. Tricky Word. This weeks tricky word is 'they'. Use the word 'they' to make as many sentences as you can! 

Homework will be collected on Friday morning so please ensure the folders are in their bags for collection on Friday. 

Any issues or problems with the homework, please let Sarah or Christine know and we can adapt and change as necessary.

Homework 24th February

Hi all,

This week is a revision week. We will be revising all our sounds completed so far.

The pages to complete in the book are 54 - 57. 

If you can revise every sound covered so far with your child and practice blending e.g. c-a-t.

We will continue with the space theme this week.

Homework 27th January

Hi all, 


Here's the homework for the week:

1. Sound and Tricky Word Worksheet - Our new sounds for the week are 'v' and 'y'.

Please colour in the pictures and practice the sounds and letter formations with them throughout the week. 

2. Sounds Like Phonics - Our sounds this week are 'v' (p. 66,67) and 'y' (p.64,65). Please complete both pages by Friday. 


Today we learnt all about the 'v' sound. Can you see any 'v' words in the picture?


Later in the week we'll be learning about the initial 'y'sound. As in yogurt, yellow. Can you find any 'y' words in the picture?

3. Tricky words - Our tricky word this week is some. Try and think about all the sentences we say every day using the word 'you'! 

4.  Oral Language Page: The Café - The children will be learning all about The Café over the next two weeks. Take a look at the page about 'The Café' and have a chat about the words and the picture.
